Judo Grading on Sunday. Had double grading - 6th to 5th Kyu (white to yellow), 5th to 4th Kyu (yellow to orange). So now orange belt!!! Yeay. Screwed up my de-ashi-barai tho...haha was dam fake when i din sweep properly n my partner jus wayang n fell dam nicely. My sweeping sucks.

78 days to MBBS...I can smell doom. First paper 1st Mar 2007. Pray for me.

On a certain night, the following transpired between a certain thousand year old mo gu (a.k.a. qian nian lao gu - trust me the style dated back to 1983) and the strong hunky 6 pack-titanium-abded zhu gui (You laugh!!! Wah u all dun believe ah!? okie loh...i show u all the photo. *Photo not for the faint hearted, man-hungry-women, angiodysplastic noses...) ... Meanwhile The Twit (a.k.a a piece of meat ?!? - dun ask me y guys....u gotta ask the mushroom...she thinks meat rythmes with Twit. Maybe Mweat n Twit) slept on in his Tweetyland, dreaming of Tweety bird perched on a twig.

Life is not about how hard you work. It's about who sees you doing work, how you let people know you are actually doing work. It's about doing work at the right place and time, even though one may be slacking off the rest of the times.

Life is about protecting your own arse with a huge big kwali. Shift the blame to others. Push responsibilities too. All man are equal but some are more equal than others. All man dream but some end up with nightmares. All man venture out into uncharted waters, some find new land, some are lost in the sea forever. We all try to seek the silver lining of every dark cloud, but some just get struck by the lightning which follows.

Maybe life's just like that. Innocence is lost as we grow. We get disillusioned along the way. No one cares if you fail. Who cares? There'll be one less competitor. The world just moves on without you. The sun will still rise from the east and set in the west. You wont be missed.

Finished Surg SIP. Saw some J1 students from a certain JC in Sgp named after Mr Sia doing their holiday elective in the hosp. Ahh the bunch of idealistic youngsters. "I wanna be a doc so I can save lives in future!"- Wooo...you can save lives by donating blood too. So why dont I see you doing that? "I wanna be a doc cos I cant see myself doing anythg else..."- Well I said that during my admissions interview too. Now I can see myself doing ALOT of other stuff. "I wanna do medicine because I like to think...analyze"- So you mean to say other faculties dont think alot? Well to each his own.

Nuff said. Just some rumblings. Better go back to mugging. 108 days left...to the beginning of 5 years more of poo. Sorry peeps I am jus plain sian about things right now.

In case you are wondering who on earth is mo gu (mushroom...mo2 gu1)...well..sorry folks, J***INE warned me not to say she's mo gu...so I shant say who's mo gu k!!! The former class rep wudnt be happy...

Zhu Gui and the Twit: "cos u r walking in the middle of the road!!!"

Happy belated birthday to myself. Thanks to those who remembered and dropped SMS-es. Really appreciate it.

1st Nov passed in an unglamourous way. Transferred to the HnK team with my supervisor. Not the friendliest of teams I must say. Butchers arent friendly to start out with and when the butching team is made up of the elite, chopping takes up a whole new dimension. Shit rolls downwards and we get koong-ed for the slightest of reasons; the product of our plain ignorance and lack of knowledge, which we deserve, but also as subjects of plain PMS. Koonged for not knowing that incentive spirometry is supposed to be done sucking air in and not blowing out (I deserve this I must say)- "Not in the wards long enough...you fail!". Koonged for not knowing the latest K+ even tho we din have the password to access the system - "No excuses, you fail too!". Koonged for not using the right words for describing the chest tube drainage. A "bubbling" under water seal bears completely different significance compared to a merely "oscillating" seal - "This is basic respiratory medicine...who taught you basic respiratory medicine in yr 3? you fail..." (Maybe we deserve this too). The last straw from the CON was when the HO tried documenting findings by squezzing in between lines - " I am gonna DIE with this standard of care in the hospital. There is simply no PRIDE in doctors nowadays. No pride at all in your work these days. You all better buck up." He had the best intentions to raise the standard of medical education, but really we are the products of an existing system. Dun rent at the products, start with the system. Start with the Johnny behind the system.

The day dragged on with the SIPS on tenterhooks bout when another Blitzkrieg from the CON is gonna occur. The HO is visibly stressed and displeased. I have nvr seen WD so serious in his life before. I wonder how he and YM survived the past one wk with him. The team was on take that day, which added to the stress. Saw a couple of new admissions - a ?pancreatic pseudocysts which was dam big; an acute appendicitis with rebound tenderness almost sending the pt up to the ceiling (mere percusion over the RIF sent the pt bouncing up an down on the bed...dock dock "OW"... dock dock "OW"... dock dock "OWww"...dock dock dock dock "*&^% OWwwww..."); neurogenic vs vascular claudication which later turned out to be neither cos U/S doppler showed patent vessels and lumbar spine x ray showed mild spondylolytic changes unlikely to cause spinal stenosis.

Left the hosp at 7pm. Is this how people usually celebrate bdays? Something is missing in my life, but for now I am too tired to search for the missing link.
